Lesson learnedThis diary style book is meaningful to the author, a great experience for her and a great thing。 to accomplish, volunteering at it's best。 This reader didn't enjoy it as much。 It was so tedious to read。 I guess diary style isn't for me, How many sentences started with "I", (to many ,) I did ,I saw, I was, I went etc, And didn't care for lists of clothes。things to do, how to travel ,but others might。 So lesson learned diary style is not for this reader。 Lesson learnedThis diary style book is meaningful to the author, a great experience for her and a great thing。 to accomplish, volunteering at it's best。 This reader didn't enjoy it as much。 It was so tedious to read。 I guess diary style isn't for me, How many sentences started with "I", (to many ,) I did ,I saw, I was, I went etc, And didn't care for lists of clothes。things to do, how to travel ,but others might。 So lesson learned diary style is not for this reader。 。。。more

Wonderful and Insightful BookI really enjoyed this book because the entire time I felt like I was traveling right there beside the author。 I loved the descriptions of how she spent her days and how she was feeling as her adventures unfolded。 This is a wonderful book to that gives great insight on what it is really like to travel and volunteer as a solo woman。 I had trouble putting it down。

This book is extremely inspiring! I love how all events are well explained, and how the author paints a vivid picture of each one of her trips。 A must read。

I really enjoyed this - just my type of book。 I particularly like journal/ diary format memoirs, so this was spot on for me。 The author is a nurse who lives and works in Ontario。 Her normal job is working on a neurobehavioural unit with people who've had Brain injuries。 She has travelled and volunteered extensively。 This book is about those travels and experiences volunteering as a nurse, and working with children and animals, in six different countries。This book combines my favourite genres: tr I really enjoyed this - just my type of book。 I particularly like journal/ diary format memoirs, so this was spot on for me。 The author is a nurse who lives and works in Ontario。 Her normal job is working on a neurobehavioural unit with people who've had Brain injuries。 She has travelled and volunteered extensively。 This book is about those travels and experiences volunteering as a nurse, and working with children and animals, in six different countries。This book combines my favourite genres: travel and medical memoir。 It was great, just what I want to read, I found it very interesting。 It has a concise, conversational style, flows, and is easy to read。I really like how she's presented the photos at the start of each section in the book。 Like a Polaroid, and some on a slant/some straight。 It's a nice touch, and looks good。Varied and exciting opportunities。 As well as the nursing, she explores the local culture。 Trips, exhilarating experiences-such as a bungee jump。 Lots of interesting stuff。Her enthusiasm for her experiences really comes through the writing。Photos of the trips are available via a link in the book。 。。。more
